Well they say it’s better to be lucky than good. Certainly the case with Mr Southgate. The young lads saved your bacon.

Pleased for the young players. Thought the penalties were superb but Southgate does my head in. Yet again he leaves the substitutions far too late for my liking. Thought Palmer did well when he came on but no doubt he will still be left out of the starting eleven. Saka
had a far better game today.

I agree. If England win this it will be inspite of Southgate. They really have great chance as all the best teams are in the other half of the draw. They can beat Ned/Turk and then its a final against Spain/France which on the day England should be well capable. Spain look a bit special though. No idea how Scotland beat them in qualifying !!

Hey Marko - I saw some cow bells and a fondue set for sale on ebay this morning (or as a direct swap for some orange overalls, a windmill and some tulips) and thought it may be you?? 😂😂

The BBC football page for beating Switzerland on pens seems a bit OTT. McNulty as usual completely out there.
I think Netherlands will be the first top level country that England will have faced in Euros.
For me Netherlands are hit and miss and I fancy England to beat them.
I think England will get to the final but that will a whole different ball game where they will need to raise
their game quite a bit for anything that has been shown so far.

Just participated in the BBC website vote and ended up in the overwhelming minority ---- >>> France v Holland final.

Think you'll be very correct, Charnwood......, and just what the hell are you going to do around your neighbours? Spain? England?

You couldn’t write this could you. A German ref in charge of England’s semi final match . How the hell has that been allowed? He’s already been done (and banned), for taking bribes!

I’m not expecting any semblance of equity from this ref now. I’m REALLY pissed off with this news.

This is my bet also. Tonight's game will be very interesting. Will France manage to snuff out Spain? Will France come to life (when did they last score an outfield goal?).

What the heck does it matter that the ref is German ?
On the other hand why he is still refereeing at top level for taking a bribe is very strange.

A referee taking a bribe to fix a match outcome should be banned for life. To subsequently appoint a guilty official to referee at a major tournament suggests UEFA are themselves either corrupt or lacking in moral standards.

The ref is Andorran, Hallam. Right in the middle. Great work by UEFA getting him. 👍👌
