Where’s the attacking from England now? I know the Dutch have changed things but we’ve stopped moving the ball quickly and seem to be passing it back more than forward 🤷‍♀️

Have to say we got lucky with the (no ) penalty but sometimes they say your name is on the trophy 🤞 - don't even need to win now as a draw will do as pens are a lottery!

Disagree. Studs up tackles in open field are regularly yellow, if not red. Funny, I was yelling at Southgate for taking off Kane and Foden with penalties looming. Raise my hand, Southgate got it right but it could have gone either way. Happy to see Shaw on the field; he’ll start vs the Spaniards. Not sure we have enough to beat Spain, but two consecutive finals is commendable. Well done Southgate and England…we really deserve a trophy.

England v Spain final is just what I’ve been expecting for a while.

The last time we played Spain we beat the 3-2 in Seville which was our first win against them in Spain for more than 30 years. Me and the missus were there to watch if and unexpectedly we played them off the park. There’s no reason why we can’t win again on Sunday. Fantastic 👏⚽️👏⚽️👏 ⚽️

Well I'm gonna buck the trend here and agree with Ian Wright, that tackle is given as a foul anywhere else on the pitch so it's a penalty, plain and simple. Yes it's a tough one and you'd be fuming if it's given against you but the rules of the game now dictate it was the correct decision, the VAR officials thought so, asked the ref to take a look so it's not as if it was a snap decision in live play.

Your starter for 10 is that Ian Wright is saying it.
If that is a penalty then the game is finished
If we gave a penalty for every decision in the box similar to outfield we would have 30 per game !

Just means you can’t lift a leg to block. With arms also pinned and looking like penguins ——->>> fk knows what a defender is supposed to do. Fk knows what defenders are going to look like in the future.
Defender raised leg to block……. Kane boots HIS foot, and err……., hmmm 🤦‍♂️🤷‍♂️
It’ll be VERY interesting next season when the big guns are getting dodgy decisions. Basically paying extortionate Season ticket prices to watch Celtic or The Sevco players act like they’ve been shot and get the pens. That’ll be the gunners and citeh players at Portman Road next season. For absolute sure. Got to hope that it’ll be swings & roundabouts…….. But from what ive witnessed so far, guys like Omari Hutchison are too honest, too determined to play the game as it should be played.
Harry Kane looked like he needed his foot amputated from the ankle down last night. Then he used the same foot to slot the pacey & convincing penalty. Its all pish. And it ONLY happens in the “soccer”.

But away from all that Kane collapsing and VAR seeing things like “defending”, ——>> England were BY FAR the better side and Watkins winner was fit to win any match. It’ll be a VERY close contest on Sunday night. By no means Spains Trophy at all……… it is there for England to take. Part of me hope they do for SBR looking down…….. but then i get a vision of my bro-in-law and think…….., NOOOOO!!!

Aye there lies the conundrum.

Maybe we need AI to find a solution for defenders !!
I actually couldn't believe last night what state the game had got into over handball and what is a foul now

When you’ve got Ian Wright saying it was “Reckless”, Gary Neville responding , “WHAT? RECKLESS?” ——>> means its all fkd. Two stalwarts of the game seeing it completely different. But I’m 100% convinced on reflection, Wright would admit that it was a “fan-boy” moment and he sounded ridiculous.

It wasn't reckless, that's silly, but you can't tell me that isn't given anywhere else on the pitch as a foul because it is, not saying I agree with it but under the stupid rules of today it's a correct decision.

The defender hit Kanes shooting boot/foot , and made no contact with the ball. So to me that’s a penalty.
Well, 🤷‍♂️, remember this Hallam when VAR is in all ITFC games next season. (Speaking from VAR in SPL / Easter Rd etc etc)

……. The player was “closing down a shot”. Was not a direct challenge on Kane. So when this shyte happens next season, (because it will) we know you’ll be understanding the decisions. Because i STILL don’t.

Basically……… defenders are not allowed to defend anymore. Must get used to that. 👍👌
Nothing at all wrong with closing down a shot - but when you do it at waist height with your studs showing *and make contact with the opponent) it's reckless and a penalty all day long.
