Re: Transfer Rumours - New Signings for Towns Premier League Squad 2024/25
I regard much of what I read in social media terms these days with a cynical eye. Even sources which initially appear to be 'official', often prove not to be. What has been posted by Andy may well be BS, but it brings home the moral that there are two sides to every story. With the KM saga I tried to blinker myself to what I was reading, telling people at work (who asked) that I was quietly confident that Keiran would remain at Ipswich. I did see, however, a level of resentment and animosity rising aimed at KM, which was totally unfair imo (something which I feel could still resurface if the first few months of the season go particularly badly). This current saga is doing Philogene no favours either. We are not partial to the facts. Yes if he's accepted terms with Ipswich but then gone back on his word because another club come in at the 11th hour with a bigger renumeration package then I'd be pretty annoyed, but I doubt that that would be the whole story either

Like it or not, we now live in an age of instant news from multiple sources. Some sources are reputable, while others are more speculative. It’s frustrating to hear deals are all but done, and then to see the deals collapse just as fast. Disappointment is inevitable. Unfortunately, perceptions of players and clubs can be swayed by the misinformation that is bandied about. Let’s not forget this Prem transfer business is uncharted territory for MA and staff, and I acknowledge the hard work and due diligence that is being set forth. I trust MA to bring in the right type of players for Kieran to integrate into the squad, ultimately making us stronger.

We should just stay calm until we see an official announcement.
Anyone got the feeling someone will be announced tonight? Don’t know why! Just got a feeling.

Greaves has just been announced.

This is the one I feel we really needed to get over the line. I get the impression that good quality left sided defenders are not easy to come by. If he has a good season his value should rocket. Exactly the type of player we should be signing.

Great that Greaves is here. I said yesterday and say again - if Philogene comes then great but if not, f*ck him and his bad attitude...

Jacob “Shabba’s His Agent” Greaves. (SHA for Shabba!)
Is there any concrete evidence on Philogenes bad attitude? Or is all just being derived from what’s been written on the “everyone knows fk all conveyor belt” of information?

Felt the same about Billie Jean, but the more I think about it he’s probably made the correct decision to return to Villa. AV has an established infrastructure at the Prem level, Emery is a fantastic manager, and most importantly he’s familiar with the set up.
With that said, he’s still a c*ck haha!

Its a fair point Marko but for me, if a player wants to be here, he would be here. They have no need to fanny about if they really want to be somewhere. They are the architects of their own destiny, regardless of agents, clauses or whatever. This guy appears to be playing the field in my view - his prerogative but it doesn't ait well in our environment of an 'all for one' cause. Just my view - I will apologise if I am wrong but gut feel is that the attitude is wrong (and I do have a significant gut to feel)

With the Greaves signing, is it possible Woolfy won’t be a starter? Or, is it possible Greaves will play on the left, and Davis will be moved to left midfield? And Woolfy will still start?

Greaves is a left sided CB, so Burgess position

Re: Transfer Rumours - New Signings for Towns Premier League Squad 2024/25
I’d say Johnson is RWB, Rb, RW, LB, CB. Probably in that order.
He will play right back for us . Some games we might go 5 at the back and use him and Davis as wingbacks. Burges, greaves and Wolfie as CB’s. Ie for away games vs the top six

Ok. Where does that put Clarke? And, what about Tuanzebe?

What about moving Woolfy to left back? Move Davis into midfield, and play Greaves, Burgess, Tuanzebe as CBs? Johnson & Clarke alternating as RBs?

Put the hallucinogens down '24!! There's more chance of Woolfy starting for England on Sunday, than as some kind of wing back in the Prem

Re: Transfer Rumours - New Signings for Towns Premier League Squad 2024/25
Well that’s a bit harsh. If Davis is left midfield we won’t need a left wing back. Davis is a midfielder in my opinion. No hallucinogens involved unfortunately.
