For the few interested, (its not a thread hijack honest) …….

Similar (but very different) issues happened in the Geelong v Collingwood AFL game last night. (Just watching it on re-run)

Ok…… Harry Kane takes a shot, kicks defender, but its a penalty. The majority think, “how's that a pen?”

Tonight, Geelong defender boots ball out from defence, follows through, kicks the attacker who’s closing down ——>> free kick attacker.
Geelong fans going ape (on a whole other level btw) ….. “How the fk we supposed to defend?”

 Find it all quite amusing.

I think we have an almost even chance of winnig tomorrow nights final which is a significant better chance than the last time we played them in Spain in 2018 at which time Spain were undefeated at home for 15 years.

I can’t go against my home team 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 even tho it’s against my adopted home team 🇪🇸, so I guess it’s heads I win and tails I don’t lose.

Anyway I’m going for history to repeat itself and an England win by the odd goal to avoid penalties. How good would that be. 👍⚽️👍⚽️🤣⚽️

An interesting pre match article taken from yesterday’s Guardian.

https://www.theguardian.com/football/ar ... of-seville

I guess this is exactly what’s given me the hope that England can pull off another surprise win tonight but to do so the team will have to be at their very best and a bit more.

Have to say we got lucky with the (no ) penalty but sometimes they say your name is on the trophy 🤞 - don't even need to win now as a draw will do as pens are a lottery!
Disagree. Studs up tackles in open field are regularly yellow, if not red. Funny, I was yelling at Southgate for taking off Kane and Foden with penalties looming. Raise my hand, Southgate got it right but it could have gone either way. Happy to see Shaw on the field; he’ll start vs the Spaniards. Not sure we have enough to beat Spain, but two consecutive finals is commendable. Well done Southgate and England…we really deserve a trophy.
Kudos on that one, 24. Nice 👍👏👏👏

Good run from Stones but both keepers have nothing to do.

Pretty ordinary half and not a lot in it. We just need to improve our possession and passing, also stop so many long balls and play it through them, when we've done that we look much better. Shaw and Stones been excellent, no service to Kane so far.

Not a bad first half, at leadt we’re giving them a game and are still in it. Great pressing from Spain but we’ve really restricted their opportunities. Hopefully we can create a little more in the second half but they’ve certainly not played us off the park. Still anyone’s game.

We need to stop giving Williams so much space, he's good and very dangerous

When we do get forward we always try to bulldozer our way through from the top of the 18yard area ( as do msny team seem to do these days), when if you get to the base line and cross the ball back into the box defenders are running towards their own goal…. And then Anything can happen 🤷‍♀️

Yes, you can’t have a “Williams” winning the trophy on the same weekend as the Wimbledon finals.

I feel Kane is past it at this level in open play situations unfortunately. He’s not holding the ball up when he gets it, he’s not winning his headers, and nothing is happening off him when he gets the balls. He certainly can’t run past his man.

Time for Palmer and Watkins for Mainoo and Kane I think. Just don’t leave it too late against these boys Gareth.

We need a bit more space and movement and definitely not to concede a second goal.

Yip he has. I think he keeps tripping over his ego tbh.

We look like a team of old cloggers playing against a much high intensity Spanish team. All our pace is on the bench!!
