Looks like we’re in for Sheffield Utd player Hamer……?

Meant to be a baller, apparently was superb in the championship.

Hard to say how good for premier league as not sure even KDB would have done well in that Sheffield Utd side last season.

Yes very good player, would be happy if true, probably go to Forest though.

You’re probably right Mike. Better chance of staying in the Prem and avoids the upheaval of relocating to Suffolk. No brainier for him really.

Sammie Szmodics exclusive update;

Town closing in on a deal and are just £500k short of Blackburn valuation of £9m.

https://apple.news/A9NJid7vsRvmubuVlPWY6Tg

Surely this deal has to cross the line now.

If it is true that Blackburn have already moved the goalposts a couple of times regarding the fee then it would not surprise me if they do so again even if we agree to the £9m. Think this will run right up to when the window closes, just hope we haven’t put our eggs in one basket regarding Szmodics and we have other options.

Club run by clowns, I hope the rest of the football league is taking note of their 'tactics'.

But we have the hottest young manager/ coach in the game...that might just swing it.

Leicester City have made a £23.2m bid for 24-year-old Panathinaikos and Greece striker Fotis Ioannidis as they continue talks to try to bring in Ivory Coast winger Wilfried Zaha, 31, from Galatasaray. (Telegraph - subscription required),

Brentford have agreed a deal to sign Sweden midfielder Jens Cajuste from Napoli on a season-long loan, with an obligation to buy for about £10m. (Football Insider)

Interesting that Leicester are going after the Greek striker we had been linked to.

Zaha would surely be a great signing for most prem teams?

Also looks like we missed out on Cajuste.

Maybe we are more keen on the trialist from Saturday than Cajuste

That would make sense Mike, that trialing Saturday has loads of PL snd is a freebie ( just a dining kn fee) I'd be surprised if we don't sign him up. He's been training with us since mid week last week. It would free up funds to sign other players too.

He didn't look very good - but naturally it was only 30mins I saw him playing for on Sat.

He hasn't played many PL games. I'm not sure he is what we need personally.

Strange you should say that, because many on twtd were speaking very highly of him. He's played over 40 PL games by all accounts, so jot sure what counts as experience then. He's certainly got more than any of our current MF

Yes I've read a lot of positive comments about him too, McKenna is no fool, if he's good enough we'll sign him.

Yes valid - we must trust KM.

He did one good thing in a move, but I also saw him mis place some passes.

It's probably a difficult position to stand out in.

Town are among three Premier League clubs eyeing Manchester City’s England midfielder Kalvin Phillips ahead of the closure of the transfer window at the end of the month.

The 28-year-old has had a frustrating time since joining City for £45 million in the summer of 2022 from Leeds, making only two league starts and 14 sub appearances for the Premier League champions, then spending the second half of last season on loan at West Ham where he started only three top flight matches in addition to playing five games from the bench.

According to the Manchester Evening News, the Blues, Everton and Fulham are all keen on recruiting the 31-times-capped England international this summer. We understand there is something in the reported Town interest.

Manchester City are ideally targeting a permanent sale with the Leeds-born schemer not in manager Pep Guardiola’s plans but it’s said they may be willing to agree a loan.

Town are yet to add to the midfield this summer but are almost certain to want to strengthen that area of the squad before the window closes.

Phillips would be an ambitious move even on loan and, as with other potential deals, the Blues might struggle to fight off the more established clubs also in the hunt for his signature.

Very true, 150k PW apparently. Maybe a loan would be good but then slim chance of keeping him after, but I guess if he helped keep us up it would be worth the loan.

This is the type of player I expect we will look to get in on loan. Quality but someone who to actually sign would be cost prohibitive.

About time lol.

Could be a good CB partner for Greaves? Be a lot of height in central defence then.

I was going to mention his name months ago but thought the same ! Would be a nice signing though if it could be got over the line !

Nice to see Town being linked now with players who have experience at the top level something that is going to be needed

That's very interesting and good news IF true, we've had so many false stories and near misses.

I hope that's true he would be a great signing, someone on YouTube who is a Coventry fan says he's definitely Premier class 🤞🤞
