Re: Anyone seen this?
Interesting!
I guess they may be interested if someone meets such a strong valuation, would represent a very good ROI.

I personally think this is very worrying and the start of them wanting out, for me it's been done in an awfully amateurish way too. Troubled times ahead I think.

Re: Anyone seen this?
This is why when relegation was confirmed I stated that I did not expect to see parachute payments invested in playing staff.
American companies are ruthless when things don't go the way they want them to - I've seen this many times over the years.
It was a big clue for me to read that KM really wanted to get Cajuste here for next season, but stated that he did not think it would be possible. Looking at the fees quoted for the move to Besiktas, that would have been easily achievable for us. I consider all of this and then read what has just been released and draw my own conclusions.

Well, well soon know when Omari and Davis are sold off, and the money not reinvested, won't we. The silence surrounding our transfer dealings to date ( which is
practically zero), is deafening.
Let's see how long it is before Ashton jumps ship for a job in the States.

Re: Anyone seen this?
Well I think that comment is ridiculous. But you’re entitled to your opinion. If it wasn’t for the Americans we’d still be in league one maybe lower. And why shouldn’t they consider their options? It’s a business! If it’s not a sustainable investment, then why would they continue to pour money into an asset that doesn’t sustain a pension fund?
I don’t think we’re even close to the Americans backing out, and to be honest your comments are borderline racist. Sorry don’t get mad at me. It’s just my opinion.

It's not ridiculous, my point is I don't think Ashton will be going anywhere soon, I don't feel the same way about the owners based on the press release, of course they are entitled to weigh up their options but it's not great. WTF are you on about racist ? What a moronic comment.

Well to be honest, I don’t think you like Americans based on your comments over the years. Maybe I’m wrong, and I apologize.Bluemike wrote: ↑Wed Jul 09, 2025 10:54 pmIt's not ridiculous, my point is I don't think Ashton will be going anywhere soon, I don't feel the same way about the owners based on the press release, of course they are entitled to weigh up their options but it's not great. Re: Anyone seen this?
Completely wrong, have no idea what comments you are on about. In fact only Tuesday we shared a table in old town dubrovnik with a mother and daughter who could not get a seat, turned out they were American, from wisconsin, Two of the nicest people you could meet, chatted for nearly an hour and by coincidence my NFL team is The Packers, which they loved. I'm really lost on your comments if I'm honest, but it's not the first time and probably won't be the last.

How can not liking Americans be construed as being racist?ITFC2024 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 09, 2025 11:27 pmWell to be honest, I don’t think you like Americans based on your comments over the years. Re: Anyone seen this?
I think the article in TWTD covered this and cleared up the misunderstanding.
Sooner Town get in one or two players through the door the better. Might ease off some of the tension around here
Going back to the article, though I agree the email surprisingly in my opinion was not the best written gramma wise but nevertheless reading it shows they are open to new investment, however the controlling majority stays the same. Why shouldn't the majority share holders open up to new investment?
Basically reading what was written they are open to new investment, just as happened, with the £105m investment last year. All of which helps the club to progress. Also will help the club with the ffp. And will also add to the value of the club. Doesn't sound to bad to me at all

Re: Anyone seen this?
I don't think it's actually new investment though, is it, it's redistribution - reducing their commitment but at the same time retaining overall control so they won't have their long term objectives scuppered.Steve and Jo wrote: ↑Thu Jul 10, 2025 8:30 amI think the article in TWTD covered this and cleared up the misunderstanding.

Re: Anyone seen this?
Yes agree with Rossi, looks as though they would like to bring a new investor on board and bank some fantastic profits on some of their earlier investment, but based on a fantasy valuation. Don't really see an issue with this tbh. IMO its unlikely that they are having their hands snapped off so why not try. But on the other hand......
Sports valuations continue to soar, especially for well managed and run clubs, and there seems to be plenty of demand around the world.

Maybe you're right rossi, who knows? but point is the ownership of the club appears to not changing anytime soon. I still have faith to where the club is heading and the ambitions of the owners and all connected to the club. The Odious Mr Rossi wrote: ↑Thu Jul 10, 2025 8:57 amI don't think it's actually new investment though, is it, it's redistribution - reducing their commitment but at the same time retaining overall control so they won't have their long term objectives scuppered.Steve and Jo wrote: ↑Thu Jul 10, 2025 8:30 amI think the article in TWTD covered this and cleared up the misunderstanding.

Does though reading the email indicate the club in value has risen sharply since these owners bought the club, that does give more value to any possible new investors

Re: Anyone seen this?
I cant imagine the owners are going to dump n run just because of a relegation. Theyve put and are continuing to put far too much money into the club infrastructure as well as the playing staff, to sell up after just 4 seasons. It'll be at least a decade before they'd decide otherwise, and its clear the Clubs value has soared. They e actually achieved so much in those 4 years.

The Americans are basically British…….,so err, racist? I think not. They’re really just a group of Brits who crossed the sea and became twats!

Glad it wasn't just me completely baffled by it then.
