Season 05/06 expectations

Post by Paul30 » Wed Jun 08, 2005 2:27 pm

I Know its early days and transfers, be them in or out of Portman road will affect the level of optamism, but what is your gut feeling at the moment regarding next seasons outcome?

I feel its going to be a tough time and we will have to rely on the bloody play offs :( Lets hope I'm wrong!!!

Medicore top half i reckon.. Nothing special but not in any real trouble .. then push for promotion the season after once built a decent side of youngsters again then if we dont make it sell them to Charlton then start again untill we finally do make it up..

without knowing who is coming in i feel we are going to be stuck in mid table mediocrity, maybe with BFJ's wheeling and dealing that may push up to a play off contender but nowhere near the heights we got to last season!

I feel the 3 coming down will all be hard to beat and all 3 have a good chance of taking the top three spots  Saying that usually one of them struggles to get to grips with championship football.

Play offs again, But this year we will win, AT WEMBLEY.

Ipswich town, last club to win a trophy at Old Wembley and 1st team to win 1 at the New Wembley

A little outside the play offs I think. Each year the championship gets harder and harder to get out of IMHO.There are some big boys in the league this forthcoming season Leeds,Wolves,Southampton, sheffield wednesday, but to name a few and normally there is a suprise packeage in the group that just come up so it wont be a push over at all and a play off place is a tall order.

I think we will be mid table just below the play offs for most of the season and then a late run will see us scrap 6th and on to Wembly. This is our fate and we will beat the Budgies in the final.

I'm going for a mid table finish, anything higher than that would be a good season.

why are people so negative on here saying we are going to finish mid table i cant see it personally we are to good for mid table we have only lost 1 important player so far. we are always going to be a side come the end of the season in the playoffs or top 2 in my opinion

The bookies certainly don't agree, we're currently between 14 and 16-1 to be champions next season :(

I agree... it's not pessimism, just not setting our hopes too high as fans, we can't be disappointed that way

I think that if we can keep most of the squad together we can do as well as last season.....so I think it'll be close between getting 2nd place or being in the playoffs again :?

Following on from Phillys post on chit chat about a thread he did before the start of the season, thought i would bring a few to the top so everyone can see their predictions.

How have you all done so far???
