Great week for Ipswich
Well the last 7 days have been the most positive at Ipswich for a very long time in my view;
1. Restructuring completed. We can now go out and spend some money on boosting our squad.
2. Decent striker purchased, (let's hope he settles in quickly. Lee & Haynes on Saturday will be interesting.
3. Very positive performance against premiership opposition after a string of positive performances recently.
4. A clear out of the youth ranks. Sad for the kids but indicates a probably needed spring clear.
5. Sito signs.
6. Williams signs.
7. Haynes signs.
8. Horlock released - wages will go back into the budget and we had too many midfielders. Horlock isn't a terrible player but building a squad with him in it is probably showing a lack of imagination isn't it. Brave to get rid I say.
9. Nash going out on loan. One of our rising stars gets the chance to make his mistakes and learn from them .......... at Hartlepool's expense.
10. Its official - we don't have to sell any of our youngsters until 2008. Mind you they might want to leave us in which case we probably wouldn't be best served by forcing them to stay.
Not bad for seven days - a win on Saturday would certainly have a very invigorating effect, especially if Lee can get on the scoresheet !

Hmm. ... true I guess. We will have to wait and see whether he wants to play football or if he is going to insist, Pablo stylee on ending his contract first.
I think he'll find somewhere and to be honest I would have thought that someone would pay 50k for him.
I see no reason not to be positive BB but a few crap performances can change all that. At least when we were playing badly we didn't seem to be able to change much. Now we are taking action. The board has come up with a wizard weeze for getting some extra money and JR is spending it.
If it doesn't work I'll be hitting the tranquilizers but until then why not be positive ?

With the exception of number 6 I´d pretty much agree.I dont think williams brings us anything we dont already have with the likes of westy,richards,juan,garven .etc.etc.I hope Im wrong and williams proves to be an outstanding buy,and Joe is not guilty of short terminism in his buying ,but as of yet Im not convienced.

Without wanting to be too cynical, but at least putting some perspective on things.
Fantastic - that extra £400k will really help - only £50m left to pay.Dubai Blue wrote:Well the last 7 days have been the most positive at Ipswich for a very long time in my view;

Well, I'm open to him, and hope he does well. But he can't get a game at Cardiff, who are hardly what you'd call an inspiring team.2. Decent striker purchased, (let's hope he settles in quickly. Lee & Haynes on Saturday will be interesting.
Though mired but another complete lack of goals - and our great white hope above, well, lets hope.
3. Very positive performance against premiership opposition after a string of positive performances recently.
Nothing like dumping fresh young talent, when our midfield is often so old and slow it doesn't appear to move.
4. A clear out of the youth ranks. Sad for the kids but indicates a probably needed spring clear.
Can't bitch about those, good stuff.
5. Sito signs.
6. Williams signs.
7. Haynes signs.
Well, it started off sweet, but it went sour pretty good - he didn't really look up for it, but he's not really fitting into the way we play - he'd shine if you had two extremely creative fast and energetic midfielders to play up in front of him, and left him a holding role. Still, I think it's best he was the one to move on.8. Horlock released - wages will go back into the budget and we had too many midfielders. ....and probably do a Bowditch.
9. Nash going out on loan. One of our rising stars gets the chance to make his mistakes and learn from them .......... at Hartlepool's expense.
Let's hope that doesn't go for Bowditch, sooner we shift that Donkey the better.10. Its official - we don't have to sell any of our youngsters until 2008. Mind you they might want to leave us in which case we probably wouldn't be best served by forcing them to stay.
We aren't gonna win on Saturday......
