Season Ticket, thinking twice anyone?

Post by rainblue » Tue Mar 07, 2006 2:30 pm

Well after the promise of the premiership waiting this time last year, and what could happen and did; anyone thinking twice about buying a season ticket.

Will we reach the hights of this seasons allocation around 18,500

I think it will be 15000.

there was a moment of "dont think im going to renew, its too much"

then it was "ah **** it i dont spend **** all on anything that isnt football so i can afford it"

and like Ippers said, next season is looking promising, would be nice to sell around 17,750 season tickets tho so the club cant sell any one!

Well as Shed said he won't be renewing as he is putting that money towards the world cup.

His tickets for the world cup have cost him a lot less than his season ticket and he still has quite abit left over for spending money.

Anyway he can always pick up a mini season ticket at any time if he wants to and also if Moped wants to go to a game he goes in as his carer so I expect he will be at PR nealry just as much.

Mini and I are renewing our tickets but we won't be attending many away games.

Decided against, not really due to anything that's happened this season, just based on other committments (screaming brats too young to appreciate the finger points of a saturday afternoon in the lower north), and my desire to go to some away games which I havn't done at all this season - and I miss em.

Still, I'm fairly sure the sales will be there or thereabouts, I don't see a lot of people deciding not.

Was seriously considering purchasing a season ticket - but developments yesterday means that possibly I wouldn't be able to see them at all!!!

Will keep you all afloat as and when.......

Sent mine back within a couple of days of recieving the forms, no way I'm not renewing mine.

Reckon we'll see the same level of sales for next season, I've heard of just as many people thinking of getting their first season ticket than I have those giving them up.

I will not be renewing mine, but this is not in any way as a protest. I want to take my 9 year old nephew to some league games next season. I have the option of purchasing one of the cheap U11 tickets in the family enclosure for him, but there will be several games where he won't be in attendance & i don't want to be in the family enclosure, when the North Stand Lower ( where my Season ticket is currently) is where i would rather be. I have worked out, that for the amount of games i should get to, i will be spending about the same as i would have done with the season tickets, unfortunately the club will not get my money early. :( :?

According to TWTD

"Meanwhile, Town's season ticket sales are reported to be on target to match last season's at this early stage."

I wont be...

Going travelling later in the year so I'm going to miss most of the season. I had to think long and hard about giving it up, gonna miss it so much.

I'm going to be writting a letter to the club (probably Sheepshank) telling them I'm not renewing because of travelling reasons and not because I protest in anyway of the handling of the club. Dont want the club to think I'm not renewing for another other reason!

I intend to do the very same Dazza. The club will be getting about the same sum of money from me as they would have done with my season ticket purchases, just not in advance

The game meant nothing, they're staying up and we're staying put, so it always puts a dampner on things, but I thought the game was good, we were extremely attacking and it was nice to watch us having so many shots and not scoring in a game that meant nothing. Normally we cant score in a game that does mean something!

I drove 500 miles to see the game yesterday. I left home at about 8:30 and got home at 9:15. When I went to pick up my tickets at the Constantine Road pick up point they had no record of me ordering tickets. They had booked me tickets for the game against Millwall, which I didn't order. I then had to go to the ticket office to have the tickets changed to yesterdays game. It took an hour to get out of Ipswich after the game and the drive home from about Cambridge was difficult because it was pissing down.
Would I have rather been anywhere else yesterday afternoon, definately not!
I am ashamed to say that this was my one visit to PR this season, and because of work commitments I have not been to that many away games. Nowhere near the number of games I went to last season.
Jonno if you were so bored watching that "shower of sh*t" you should reflect that people like me would love to live close enough to Ipswich to make a season ticket a viable option. I did have a season ticket in !991 and travelled in Leeds, but I cannot do that now due to family and work.
I envy you, don't forget it.

I do understand where your comming from, But im sure if u had of been to all the home and away games this season you would be saying the same, ive been a season ticket holder now for 10 years, and an away match passport holder for the past 6 years. and i use all my holiday from work to follow the town everywhere, so im intitled to my say, and some of the games this season have been bloody terrible, but yes i still carry on going and i always will, but its really doesnt give u much hope when we play crap against team we know we can beat, and beat them easy, such as Hull

Ive also decided not to renew my one for Next Season, to be honest there has been times this season where i havent been able to get to the games, and from a money point of view im very short at the moment, with trying to learn to drive (which dosent come cheap), and other things going on.

Despite this everything is looking promosing for next season, when you take away the factor, that i doubt we will be pushing for Promotion next year.

Never say never, they say and true to form, i have applied for a season ticket in GK Lower, as well as applying for my nephews 1st Season ticket. I will miss The North Stand lower, even though the atmosphere is not the same there as it used to be! So all i can say is:-
Greene King Lower, Beware, i'm on my way!!!
