The FA cup final
dont know how many of you know about this, but as im in essex i know alot of hammers (easy luke lol) who and i know its the same as liverpool as i have a liverpool fan mate in the same suitation who cant get tickets despite being season ticket holders.
west ham has only been given 23,000 odd tickets give or take which is the same as liverpool, however the FA have got 24,000 tickets for themselves.
Now is it me or is that wrong, because west ham have over 23,000 season ticket holders and bond members and i think i herd the figure was 1,400 odd season ticket holders cannot get a ticket, plus the other fans who dont have season tickets anyways but cannot get them for love nor money. im guessing this is the same for liverpool.
But why in the hell do the FA need sooo many, its a disgrace to the FA cup and the real fans who cannot see their teams in a once in a life time for many fans experiance which may never happen again.
Thoughts on this?

You have missed the point of that thread. Once again the real fans have been $hit upon and the prawn sandwich brigade will be out inforce. It's wrong that some season ticket holders aren't able to get the chance to see their team play and somebody who isn't interested in football gets to go just for the occasion.Luke wrote:I HOPE THE SPAMMER CVNTS LOSE!!!!!

About 7% of the tickets for the final go to the Corperate bods and sponsors - this is only about 5000 tickets in total - the remainder of the tickets not allocated to the two finalists are handed out by the FA to the County organisations who do what they will with them (local coaches, amateur players, volunteers etc)
As it is the FAs competion they can do what they like with the allocation - it is only right and proper that they reward some of those at the 'grass roots' level of the game, but where you feel they have gone wrong is the proportion of tickets that they allocate.

even football clubs who play in the intermediate and junior leagues in England get some tickets, whilst i played for such teams years ago we often got tickets for the Final. which in general winners were pulled out of a hat. myself i never ever got one.TODD66 wrote:About 7% of the tickets for the final go to the Corperate bods and sponsors - this is only about 5000 tickets in total - the remainder of the tickets not allocated to the two finalists are handed out by the FA to the County organisations who do what they will with them (local coaches, amateur players, volunteers etc)

As you say it is only right that some of those people at the grass roots of the game are rewarded but unfortunately even these tickets sometimes end up elsewhere.TODD66 wrote:About 7% of the tickets for the final go to the Corperate bods and sponsors - this is only about 5000 tickets in total - the remainder of the tickets not allocated to the two finalists are handed out by the FA to the County organisations who do what they will with them (local coaches, amateur players, volunteers etc)

What really pi$$es me off is if you google the online ticket agencies they will no doubt be offering tickets for the final (now I wonder where they will be obtaining those from?) at exorbitant prices. For those season ticket holders who have been unable to obtain a ticket that must be a right kick in the trossachs!!!

I was fortunate enough to get a ticket when Town played in the Cup Final in 1978 but if I'd had missed out after attending every home game and some away that season I would have been peeved off to say the least if I hadn't got one.
The FA and ticket allocation controversy go hand in hand.

I didnt miss the point. I just wanted to get my point across.essexgirl wrote:You have missed the point of that thread. i went to the semi against WBA at Highbury but was unable to get tickets for the final i queed up like everyone else even tho' i had only 2 vouchers ,a friend who was with a large group of us was given 3 vouchers by some stranger was able to get ticket the big thing that pissed me off is that he had never been to a Town game EVER and was a MANURE fan to boot
the upshot was he was the only one to get a ticket the rest of us went without , some went down to Wembley on the chance of getting some off a tout (i didn't go knowing my luck it would have been a wasted journey) having said that they did get tickets and got in and i saw them right above the Tunnel during the victory celebrations.
LUCK AND ME DONT GO TOGETHER thats why most of the people i know call me JONAH as to my bad luck.being around me normally means i'll get everones bad luck whilst everyone else is OK

The good old vouchers. Remember people advertising for them, we had a couple of spares which we gave to some Town fans we knew in order they could get tickets for the final.
Remember getting down to PR at 3am in the morning to queue for our tickets as we had to go to work in the morning and our boss wouldn't tolerate us being late!!!!

On a similar note, Arsenal are getting only 20,500 (i think that is the figure i read on their official websitebigfatjoes wrote:dont know how many of you know about this, but as im in essex i know alot of hammers (easy luke lol) who and i know its the same as liverpool as i have a liverpool fan mate in the same suitation who cant get tickets despite being season ticket holders.
