MLS

A place to chat about anything thats not football related. Most of the threads in here are completely pointless which is why people keep coming back and back. As the forum title suggests, feel free to make any post you want on any subject you wish. It also has Adult jokes (so be warned) which is the other reason people keep coming back.

MLS

One game in and already expectations are high here in Columbus for the Crew. The Crew's weak spot last year was the back line, and three new veterans were brough in this year to shore things up. Another problem was they couldn't score any goals for the most part of last year (why does this sound familiar? :? )

The last 13 games of the season Frederico Higuain (HEEG-why-EEEN) came in and scored 7 goals and had 5 assists in that span. He won the MLS Newcomer of the year award (I know Don, we have awards for everything here). He then opened the festivities for the year with this cracking shot...

Now the Crew have two solid strikers, and will be a force in the East. Wonder if any other Americans on here (or Brits for that matter) follow the MLS...

 I don't have an issue with Newcomer, we have rookie awards for some things. I believe the one that got me was comeback of the ear for someone that had been injured or retired. That amused me.

Come on the Galaxy (although they irritate me slightly)

Crew now 2-1-1 with a 2-1 win over DC United in a very entertaining game yesterday. The Crew have Andy Gruenebaum as their keeper, and he was superlative

The save off the line was unreal, the double save is the same one from a different angle.

Orlando and Miami will probably be the next expansion cities after New York City FC. Beckham wants a franchise in Miami and Orlando City SC is doing great in the third tier of US soccer. They have a higher average attendance than MLS side Chivas USA.

Sorry mate, I seemed to have missed this.

It's the other way round, I'm an LA fella. The niners were the closest team to LA, rather than the galaxy being the nearest team to frisco.

LA? Did you like LA, Don? One city I would probably avoid myself.

To follow up on my high-brow thread earlier this year...the Crew's roster is filled by a bunch of effing inbreds masquerading as players. They just gave up a goal in the 88th and 93rd minute yesterday to the worst team in the league to lose 2-1. All the announcer could do was bemoan their "bad luck" this year. That sums up their season.
