Fly on your way, like an eagle,
Fly as high as the sun,
On your way, like an eagle,
Fly and touch the sun.
AWESOME, OHIO!

Thanks Marko, Maiden are rock GODS!
Paladium, a channel over here, showed their 2008 tour yesterday. They are still awesome. Probably my favorite British ban, followed by Def Leppard.

Saw then back in 2012 at the Final Frontier tour in Glasgow......, absolutely incredible. And Bruce Dickinsons energy is unbelievable. Running about all over the place for 3hrs! And he is mid 50's!
Joe Elliott from Def Leppard was the guest all last week on BBC Radio two, picking the "tracks of his years", (two tracks a day)..... basically the tracks that influenced him as he grew up. Some decent stuff. I did like early Def Leppard but their late 80's/early 90's stuff was a bit sh*t.

Yea, High N Dry was awesome, and if you didn't have Pyromania there was something wrong with you.

"Pyromania" is an absolute classic. But then the massively commercial "Hysteria" came out, and I was a bit shocked if I'm honest. Joe Elliott with the mullet, dancing like a total fanny on Top of the Pops!
WTF!

Just read tonight that Scottish Bass player, Jimmy Bain passed away last week. He was Bass Player with Ronnie James Dio and with Rainbow. Always the joker onstage. You'll be missed Jimmy. And he was on tour with Def Leppard believe it or not, Ohio....., backing group, "Last in Line"
Off to listen to some Dio.
HOLY DIVER!

Oh yeah, I did see he died last week. So sad.
I haven't heard the new Simple Minds album. Any good?
And yeah, I am binge-listening (new word) to Maiden all day.
Favorite 3 videos of theirs,
1) Aces High (Spitfires and Hurricanes flaming Heinkels and 109s...freaking awesome!)
2) The Trooper (cavalry charging, cannons going off, and when the guy gallops by and grabs the flag...suhweeet)
3) Run to the Hills...nuff said on that one!

My 4 year old grandaughter LOVES Aces High, Ohio!
....... The "turning, twisting, diving" parts....., she pretends she's flying a fighter plane! HAHAHA! She is awesome.
I never recommend any music really for fear of people telling me "it's sh*t, mate!" ..., BUT, I do recommend the The Simple Minds album, "Big Music"...., very good indeed. I'll post a link to a song next post.

VERY Simple Minds this one.
I've always thought of Simple Minds as a Scottish version of U2. But much better. Can take or leave U2, but that's only because Bono gets on my tits. Great music.

Not bad at all...my daughter and I love singing "Don't you forget about me" from the Breakfast Club, had no idea they were still recording. She was excited to see them still going.

Haha! She is a wee character. Her favourite all time song is St Jimmy by Green Day. You should see her pretending to be the drummer. She even does the slide guitar actions near the end that I showed to her......., she remembers every time!

Been listening to the Eagles a lot lately after Glen Frey died. Also been learning Lyin Eyes on the guitar.

Same here, Ohio. I've had the classic "Eagles Live" album blasting in the van while driving since Glenn passed. What a guitarist and singer/songwriter he was. Don Henley is equally brilliant but he'll be a bit lost without Glenn.
The last 2 minutes of the Long Run on that live album makes the hair stand up on the neck/arms. Flippin awesome. Not a huge fan of the sax, but that 2 minutes of sax is incredible.
Great to hear that you are learning some Eagles tunes. I tried to learn guitar years ago but, nope too difficult. Eagles tune that was on YouTube guitar lesson page was "Take it Easy". The guy made it look TOO easy!

James, the Bieber laugh...c'mon. About to suggest Minnie Ripperton's "Loving You" for you next.
Youtube has great guitar lessons, Marko. David Taub on Epic Guitar Instruction showed an easy way to play Lyin Eyes, that is what I am using.
