Not watching the game in fact unable to, can't even get match commentary so sit out the last ten minutes and hope score doesn't alter. Some of our players not performing, errors being made ? Even if it's only by one goal victory we prevail at least it's three points from it.

That was hard watching. COYB
very poor forward line finishing. Still we're in the top 6

Some good tackles and passes by Skuse I thought
We did play better after he came on. Possibly a coincidence possibly not

I ami quite worried that he is fit at the same time Downes could be out for a while. He is past his best now, I think it would be a very negative move to bring him back in.Steve and Jo wrote: โSat Mar 13, 2021 5:57 pmWas He? Mind you, I don't think it's amount of ball time he had more his experience.. He did seem possibly to steady the ship more but I agree, ball time was minimal

I'm not sure what all these people are doing when Skuse cut out a good cross field pass which stopped a Plymouth counter attack and won us a corner.

I for one am glad he's back, most underrated player in a town shirt. At league 1 he can still boss the defensive side, maybe not in physicality but mentally. Bit like when walky came back to PR, legs gone but brain more than compensatedAndym wrote: โSat Mar 13, 2021 6:01 pmI ami quite worried that he is fit at the same time Downes could be out for a while. Re: Ipswich Town vs Plymouth Argyle Preview & Matchday Thread
I got a full-time score in that we won. Now I know largely zero about what occurred out there but first reaction it's a win and the team occupies a top six position at this moment.
Fact is Cook got a win at the third attempt not so much a criticism but a true observation. Now Lambert has gone you feel with enough consistency and belief the team can make it back to Championship status but concern today being I get mention along the way where we didn't really play to standard or even the opposition didn't really threaten.
If you want promotion it's got to be done now. Realize the opportunity is there and improve on today maybe. Going to be tougher games ahead than Plymouth in what remains of the season but above all else we got a win today. May not have been pretty but you would have taken it without hesitation before start of play if offered.

Ok BM give me the full rundown on the game as I have been out shopping but score checking only on the mob.
Also had to take the wife for her Covid pr*ck at Lydd Airport first one this year any way back to the match report, when I saw Parrot had banged one in on 4 mins i though Hey Oop were in for a hat full here, BUT nope still at least its a win and 3pts COYB

He did Mike, you are right and like i said, for me his experience also steadied the ship. I can't recall too many times Plymouth ran through us. But i am concerned with Wilson, for me he was found wanting

Middle paragraph not true really. Played well in most parts, like Mike said early on, never going to dominate for 90 mins. Plymouth did have four or five very good opportunities to score too.Guess you should really watch the match before putting them down. Our standard is league one, and yes we are playing to league 1 standards, so credit were to due, its 3 great points and momentum under cook.saint jude wrote: โSat Mar 13, 2021 6:04 pmI got a full-time score in that we won. Must have missed it.
Just not convinced by the substitutions today. The front 4 weren't great but they were all replaced and none of them were an improvement. We just ended up defending deeper and lumping long balls.
Holy needs to learn to command his 6 yard box.
Left hand side of defence (Wilson & Kenlock) very poor, although Kenlock did some good central defending to cover for Wilson.
Midfield struggled without Downes.
Parrott, Jackson & Judge all missed good chances.
Nsiala decent, as was Downes. Chambers OK. The rest really were pretty poor. Dozzell made a few good passes but needs to learn to tackle.

True, we didn't play well. But that, I'm afraid, is Ipswich at the moment. Good performances are few and far between. Pleased with the result but once Plymouth stopped passing to us it was a very disappointing performance.saint jude wrote: โSat Mar 13, 2021 6:04 pmI got a full-time score in that we won. Really? That's all you can say?? Why bother , is it the usual " let's try and get a bite"? If you really are a town fan and that's a big if imo, what is it with you and other posters today. 3 games in, first game after 2 days we lose, yhen get a decent draw, now a good 3 points, all with little to no training in between under cook. Fuckin loony toons the lot of ya
