Darren Currie???

Post by Bluebird » Sun Dec 04, 2005 4:22 am

My opinions on this fairy are well known, so I wont repeat them

However, I cannot understand how Joe thought he was worth keeping on the pitch yesterday, we were effectively playing 10 v 11 again.

Anyone, apart from Luke  , care to explain what Joe sees that I don't???

A decent player, with aged legs, weak on tackling and defensive play, whose very creative going forward and can always create you that one chance that wins a game.

What, from our current squad? Certainly, we're not exactly sitting pretty in terms of creativity.

to me currie is a luxury we cant afford at the moment, 11 battlers would be my choice before creativity with the position the club are in

shame we cant use currie like the Great Britain hockey squad used to with their penalty corner fella, he used to come on just for important set pieces

Totally agree. I would much rather than a player that actually tackled and headed the ball that couldnt create too much. Currie doesnt exactly create loads of chances and uses the same 1 trick all the time! On the other hand he does have the odd good game!

Disagree really, if people would get in the f**king box, Currie would create a lot more goals. If we're trying to Cross to just Forster, then I can see why its not working.

To be frank HB, anyone who could actually participate in the play would be nice! Currie took things to new depths yesterday. He is always caught between passages of play, and when he gets caught up in it he slows us down going forwards, or dangles his leg about like some sort of poof!

If you watch him he actaully moves (slowly  ) away from area where he might have to tackle! IMHO, he does not do enough on the ball to justify being a passanger in the team.

I wasnt there yesterday so cannot comment on his performnce etc.
But surely when a player is your joint top goalscoring midfeilder and leading assist man he is worth a place in the team.
