Ipswich Town vs Wigan Athletic Match Preview

Oh my,Oh my ,Oh my......a few poor results and suddenly Town are fodder and on the back foot with MM on the firing line.....Tut Tut Tut.People.
I support all of the supporters opinions for each and every one of us pump money into the club one way or another and only want our club to do well and succeed.

But i equally remain grateful that a manager like MM has come to our club and and saved us from League 1 obscurity,using whatever tactics he possesses .

Just sit back a bit and look at this assembled squad and the table position we are currently sitting at and ask..."are we over achieving or what?" How much has MM spent putting this outfit together?

We all have valid opinions and mine is that Town are not quite ready for the premier league just yet. Sure we all want to win every game and storm off onto the promised land.But we all know that to compete and stay their,We do need a better style of football being played.

I say we should enjoy this season of mild expectation without the fear of facing relegation.Embrace the fact that Town are punching beyond their weight and enjoy the season.

Wigan were as poor a side that I've seen this season which shows the level of our performance yesterday.

Home form for the remainder of the season is going to be crucial in how our season pans out. It is a concern that not only have we failed to score in our last 3 home games (even if one of those was against Southampton) but the number of chances we have created in these games have been very limited as well.

Confidence is a thing which is very easy to lose but a lot harder to regain and we do need to start on the front foot a lot sooner in our home games and look to be more creative and positive. A crisis ? No, A concern? Yes.

Off to Rotherham next week where hopefully I will see a better performance and a win. Also, with a bit of luck it might be a bit warmer than yesterday but I don't hold out much hope on that one.

Reality check. Thanks loudnproud, I needed that...you're right, we're not ready for the Prem...and it's not the end of the world. We have came a long way under MM, and I hope we eventually reach the promised land. In all honesty...I really want to see us playing good football again. Fingers crossed.

The club may be on the same "class" level as NCFC, but do they have "zoo discussions"? I had to scroll back and look for that, missed it, but it's there, and God damn it, that's a zoo discussion. The club has the disgrace of some boo-ers, but they also have equally pissed off fans who discuss the Chester area and the zoo.

Come on, Don......., what is a fan to do? I think it's great. I can see me at Easter road next week;

The gulf between the Championship & the Premiership is so wide that no Championship Team is likely to ever be ready for the Premiership, if you're not sure about it just ask Leicester City, QPR or Burnley.

If you think we should wait till we're ready forget it and just accept Chamionship football is here to stay. However if like many you still dream of a return to the promised land, I think it's a case of take it when you can regardless of whether we're ready or not.

The money that comes with short-stay PL status can easily be spent; whilst adjusting again to life back in the Championship, and effectively starting again, isn't always easy - ask Wigan! I always look at Stoke as a club who seem to have got retaining PL status pretty much spot-on.

However, PL for ITFC - bring it on!

And when the club eventually make it to the EPL, DON'T go in for any challenges. You'll end up like Bertrand and sent off. That challenge ended up looking serious, but no way he meant it as reckless. Yellow card, yes. No way a red. Non contact sport nowadays. Anyone see the Old Firm game? Craig Thomson, super shyte ref? Every challenge was a free kick.

that was a disjointed and lacklustre display and i agree with others about mcgoldrick who looked far from interested.
i did not boo at the end but boy that was a terribly frustrating afternoon and it was freezing!
