The football year of IPSWICH TOWN. 2nd half of last season and 1st of this, Town's league results were?

Won 21
Drew 11
Lost 14
Points 77.

Which basically equates to play off form.

In actual fact that's not as good as form as some would believe. Managers have been fired for achieving greater.

If that's - and it is - our record for this calendar year in the championship league, then the play-offs at best would seem our best chance of promotion. Maybe it's just a goddamn depressive day intruding on present time, but first I looked at the statistics presented, saw a clear area for improvement.

And a Happy New Year to you SJ..

Of course can be approved on, could certainly be hell of a lot worse though. Doubt many managers would be sacked for achieving even greater results considering what little and everything else MM has had to work with. If so, please share names

Yes that is correct. McCarthy hasn't had at his disposal like some other names the means to really build say anything special, and for the last time, we've moved on in the last two years a long way from the unmitigated garbage of Keane and Paul Jewell before it, but we've seen it many times that people have been disgruntled with his way forward and wished for something better. Let's be aware also of the good things he had brought to the club and improvement, so it works both ways

Thing was, when I first viewed the above statistics, the win ratio didn't appear overly greater than the victory, and it didn't take long to believe there was room for improvement. Bear in mind this is for a calendar year progress, not over any one season, but all the same took a level of issue with it when first having an opportunity to view the details presented.

As the author put it, that is probably enough for a play-off berth, but merely tried to put across we've little chance of an auto promotion. That's not being pessimistic, it's simply being realistic.

Chances are many will realize this in any event, but just spoke out on the issue as a spontaneous line of thought.
